Shopping during Covid-19

April 5, 2020

The last time I wrote I it was the first time I had to go shopping during this viral crisis we are all experiencing. Today is about the 3rd or 4th time I have gone shopping. Well it was yesterday, but the picture from above was taken right before I stepped out of the car.

I wasn’t real sure about shopping with a mask covering my face. It certainly felt weird and out of place. But hey, I’ve transitioned and at the time that was new and different and unusual for me to step out in public showing the true me. Besides about half the people I saw out and about also had face masks on, so unlike before, I wouldn’t be the only person!

It actually felt really good wearing a mask. It felt as though I was being a responsible citizen, a helpful member of my community. I realized this when I felt so darn uncomfortable around those people who did not have a mask on. I realized that I was not uncomfortable to be around others who had a mask on also as I realized that I did not need to be afraid being around them. If they have the virus they would not be able to get it all over me if their mouths were covered. Awesome!

I understand that not everyone can get a mask these days. They are in super short supply. But hey, maybe you could at a minimum wrap a bandanna around your face? Or a scarf? How about anything that might make it more difficult to spew or ingest this virus? Maybe you could do something like that? I dunno, maybe??

I hope you are all safe out there!

Love you!

Love yourselves!

Love face masks, staying home, and social distancing!

This season’s must have accessory, the facemask 🙂 Joking aside, they help, so yes, well worth doing your part to keep you and others safe. Hope you’re doing okay given the situation.

For those of us who aren’t yet out and may not pass 100% covering the bottom of our face gives a certain anonymity and therefore confidence.

Normally I wouldn’t venture out to shop enfemme. Yes in “andro” outfits, but not enfemme in my home town.

Today I spent hours in an outlet mall , wigged and masked — made sure my eyes popped.

It was such a relief. Wonderful absolutely wonderful.

You bring up a great point, thank you for doing so. A mask does not make it a bit less stressful for people to get out of the house. Thanks!
